Background & context

Major Alfred Becker betrieb 1944 in Nordfrankreich eine Fahrzeugwerkstatt im großen Stil: Sein Kommando nahm veraltetes britisches und französisches Beutegerät und baute daraus Brauchbares. Der kleine Renault-UE-Schlepper bekam seitliche Gestelle für schwere Wurfgranaten und wurde damit zum Raketenwerfer für die Infanterieunterstützung. Etwa vierzig Wagen entstanden zwischen 1943 und 1945. Die 21. Panzerdivision, die als einzige Panzerdivision der Landung in der Normandie entgegentrat, fuhr eine Reihe dieser Umbauten.

On the tabletop

This small Renault carrier has launch frames for heavy 28 and 32 cm rockets on its sides and serves in Bolt Action as a multiple rocket launcher for infantry support. The frames face forward, so you aim the whole vehicle at the target. A salvo is meant for enemy infantry and their positions. It fits an army of the 21st Panzer Division, which used Becker's conversions like this in Normandy in 1944. It can also be used in Achtung Panzer! games.
