Background & context

Bis 1943 hatte sich das Bild gedreht: Über der Ostfront und in Italien flogen die Alliierten, wann sie wollten, und jede Marschkolonne wurde zum Ziel. Gezogene Flak brauchte zu lange zum Abprotzen, also wanderte die Waffe auf die Ladefläche. Der schwere Einheits-PKW bot dafür Platz, Zuladung und Geländegang - eine improvisierte, aber wirksame Lösung, die bis Kriegsende in Gebrauch blieb.

On the tabletop

From 1943 Allied aircraft ruled the skies over the Eastern Front and Italy, so Heer units often carried the 2 cm Flak directly on the standard car. In your German force for Bolt Action the Horch is the mobile air defence that can open fire at once without unlimbering. Against ground targets it engages infantry and light vehicles. As the car is unarmoured, use it behind your line. The vehicle is resin, while the gun and three crew figures are metal.
