Product details

Background & context

Heinz Guderian had helped build the German armoured arm in the 1930s and in 1940 led the corps that broke through at Sedan and reached the Channel coast on the eleventh day of the campaign. He was promoted to colonel general in July 1940; in 1941 his Panzer Group 2 stood before Moscow until Hitler relieved him in December after an unauthorised withdrawal. From 1943 he was Inspector General of Armoured Troops, and from July 1944 Chief of the Army General Staff.

On the tabletop

Guderian in his greatcoat over the situation map, with an officer beside him: this base shows the command post of a German armoured force. It suits the French campaign of 1940, the advance on Moscow in 1941 or the years from 1943, when he was Inspector General of Armoured Troops. You place it as a command post behind your own line, or make it an objective the enemy is trying to reach. Figures and map table fit on the 40 mm round base.
