Product details

Background & context

In the night before 6 June 1944 Staff Sergeant Jim Wallwork set the first Horsa glider down only a few dozen metres from the bridge over the Caen Canal. The men of the 2nd Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry under Major Howard took it and the nearby Orne bridge within minutes, and the success signal was Ham and Jam. The sector was held by the 716th Infantry Division, a poorly equipped coastal formation. In the early afternoon Lord Lovat's Commandos arrived with Bill Millin.

On the tabletop

Ham & Jam puts the entire fight for the bridge at Bénouville on your table. The British land 12 Airborne under Major John Howard by Horsa glider and hold until Lord Lovat arrives with piper Bill Millin and 20 Commandos. The Germans defend with 42 Grenadiers, four MG42 teams, the 5 cm KwK 39 in its emplacement and a Marder I. In total there are 77 infantry, one vehicle, five crewed weapons and 16 crew. The 16-page booklet provides scenarios and rules; you also need the core rulebook and Order Dice.
