Product details

Background & context

Halftracks nicknamed Stummel carried a short 7.5cm gun, designated 251/9 on the Sd.Kfz 251 and 250/8 on the lighter 250. They gave Panzergrenadiers fire support of their own, without waiting for assault guns. In winter on the Eastern Front and in the Ardennes in 1944, crews wore cold weather clothing, often with a hood pulled over the steel helmet.

On the tabletop

When your Stummel takes the field in a winter game, these two figures go into the open fighting compartment. One looks for targets while the other fetches the next round, so the short gun looks busy. The vehicle backs up your Panzergrenadiers in Bolt Action and Achtung Panzer! with high explosive fire against infantry in cover. The winter clothing suits the Eastern Front and the last winters of the war in the west.
