    German pioneers were far more than just bridge builders - as stormtroopers with flamethrowers, Goliath tracked mines, and demolition charges, they were among the most feared units of the Wehrmacht. This set provides 31 highly detailed plastic and metal miniatures with an impressive selection of special equipment for every phase of the war.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    German pioneers specialized in creating paths into and through enemy defenses. Whether minefields, anti-tank obstacles, barbed wire entanglements, or fortified positions - pioneers cleared the way for the infantry. As the war progressed, they increasingly took on the role of active assault troops and were deployed in particularly hard-fought sections. With flamethrowers and demolition charges, they were virtually unsurpassed in close-quarters urban combat, such as in Stalingrad or Caen. When the tide of the war turned against Germany, it was often the pioneers who delayed the Allied advance through bridge demolitions and minefields.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    German Pioneers are one of the most versatile units in the Bolt Action system. The flamethrower is the ideal weapon against entrenched infantry in buildings, while demolition charges and the Goliath excel in scenarios with vehicles or fortification objectives. The mine detector and explosive charges open up tactical possibilities in mine and obstacle scenarios. Thanks to the extensive equipment options, the squad can be precisely adapted to the respective mission - as an aggressive assault troop or as technical specialists for mission scenarios.
