Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Panzerschreck was Germany's further development of the American Bazooka and was first used in North Africa. Due to the extreme recoil, early gunners wore protective caps and masks - later, the shield was permanently mounted to the barrel, which gave the Panzerschreck its characteristic appearance. By 1944, the Panzerschreck and Panzerfaust had replaced the Panzerbüchse 39 as the standard anti-tank weapon. German snipers were systematically trained after heavy losses from Soviet snipers in Stalingrad, equipped with ZF39 telescopic sights on Kar 98K or Gewehr 43 rifles, and supplied with precision-manufactured ammunition. Flamethrowers were used on all fronts and proved particularly effective in combating buildings and fortifications.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Panzerschreck Team is a cheap and flexible answer to enemy vehicles and tanks - ideal for defense or ambushes. The Sniper threatens enemy key models and HQ teams over long distances, forcing the enemy to take cover. The Flamethrower Team unfolds its strength against entrenched infantry in buildings and fortifications. Together, these teams present an opponent with very different challenges.
