    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    In the last years of the war, from 1943 to 1945, the German army was under enormous pressure on almost all fronts. Experienced platoon leaders were the backbone of the infantry units - they coordinated attacks, organized defensive positions, and maintained their men's morale. Junior officers were specifically trained to take on the roles of their immediate superiors, enabling them to act on their own initiative - a hallmark of German leadership doctrine. This set depicts four of these officers, each suitable for different types of platoons: from classic rifle platoons to reconnaissance and artillery platoons, and even units with heavy weapons.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Every Bolt Action squad needs an officer - and this set provides four specialized variants for different list concepts. The Rifle Squad Commander fits into any standard list, the Reconnaissance Officer complements recon-heavy armies, the Artillery Forward Observer coordinates support units, and the Heavy Weapons Commander rounds out MG or mortar platoons. The thematic design immediately shows on the table which squad an officer is leading.
