Product details

Background & context

The leIG 18 with winter crew was one of the important weapons of the German infantry in World War II. The guns were used to engage infantry, vehicles, or fortified positions at a distance. In a tabletop context, the model represents light fire support in winter settings and adds a clearly recognizable support role to armies.

On the tabletop

The leIG 18 is a short-barrelled infantry gun that serves as a light howitzer in the artillery platoon in Bolt Action. It stays close to your infantry and shells buildings, trenches and MG nests that your riflemen would otherwise have to storm. Its low profile and small size make it easy to hide in cover. You place the three gunners in winter coats with the gun on the round 60 mm base, for instance as a snowbound position.
