Product details

Background & context

From October 1942, Grenadier was the official designation for the German rifleman - a traditional name meant to raise the standing of the shrinking infantry battalions. At the same time, firepower per man grew: more submachine guns, the Sturmgewehr 44 and the Panzerfaust, with which suddenly any Landser could knock out a tank. Anyone building a late-war army needs exactly this mix of thin ranks and heavy armament.

On the tabletop

Six bodies, eleven different heads and a long list of weapons, including StG 44, MP 40, captured PPSh, Kar 98K, Gewehr 43, MG 42, rifle grenade launcher, stick grenades and Panzerfaust, come on this frame from the Grenadiers set. In Bolt Action it reinforces Grenadier squads from late 1942 onwards and provides platoon commanders and spotters. The Panzerfaust gives a single soldier a weapon against armoured targets. Bases are available separately.
