Background & context

The first winter before Moscow caught the Wehrmacht in summer uniform, and the result was a disaster of frostbite and losses. From 1942 came the reversible winter suit: one side white, the other field grey or in splinter pattern, with felt boots and padded trousers to go with it. Anyone who fought in the snow looked like a walking duvet, and that is exactly how these figures are sculpted. Whether Rzhev, Stalingrad or the Ardennes in 1944, the picture stays the same.

On the tabletop

Ten metal figures in thick winter clothing give your German winter platoon in Bolt Action leadership and support. The officer and his companion with a submachine gun form the command squad, while the medic and the forward observer fit any rifle platoon. The medium machine gun with three crew closes off open ground, and the mortar team of three reaches enemies behind cover and in hollows. Reversible suits and felt boots suit Rzhev, Stalingrad or the Ardennes in 1944.
