Product details

Background & context

The Wehrmacht went to war with more horses than lorries and never overcame this until 1945: around three million horses hauled guns, field kitchens and wagons. The Hf.2 army field wagon was the standard vehicle of the infantry divisions, fitted with a cover mainly for rations, equipment and whatever had to be kept dry. Anyone building a German army without horse-drawn transport is showing an army that never existed in that form.

On the tabletop

The covered Hf2 army field wagon with its horse team shows German infantry division supply as it looked for most of the war. In Bolt Action you can use it as an objective, for example a supply wagon that one side has to protect and the other has to capture. Parked by a road or in a village it also works as a terrain piece that gives infantry cover. Together with the open Hf2 it forms a small supply column.
