    Background & context

    Der GAZ-AAA war die dreiachsige Version des Lizenz-Fords aus Gorki und damit der Lastwagen, auf dem die sowjetische Logistik lief. Weil das Fahrgestell billig und robust war, setzte man alles darauf, was Räder brauchte: Funkstellen, Werkstätten, Flakpritschen, Panzerwagen und eben Tankwagen. Betankt wurden damit nicht nur Panzerverbände, sondern auch Flugplätze weit im Hinterland. Bis Kriegsende blieb der Typ im Dienst, obwohl er längst als veraltet galt.

    On the tabletop

    This tanker on the three-axle GAZ-AAA keeps the tanks of your Red Army supplied with fuel in Bolt Action. On the table it is best used as an objective that your opponent wants to set ablaze and you have to protect. Historically it refuelled tank units as well as airfields far behind the lines. As the type stayed in service until the end of the war, it fits supply and raid scenarios from the whole period on the Eastern Front.
