Background & context

The armed resistance groups in occupied France relied on captured material, smuggled supplies, and Allied air-drops to carry out their operations. Heavy infantry weapons such as mortars or anti-tank devices were rare in partisan warfare and thus valuable - their use was carefully planned to achieve maximum effect with minimal risk of loss. Snipers were recruited from various social strata: experienced hunters, former soldiers, or determined civilians who took up resistance against the occupying power. The partisans' anti-tank efforts were directed less against heavy main battle tanks and more against the lighter security vehicles used in the occupied hinterland.

On the tabletop

Partisans had little anti-tank capability, but in the occupied rear areas they mostly faced outdated, lightly armed security vehicles. Against these you use the PIAT, which was airdropped or smuggled through the lines. Save the scarce light mortar for the right moment to pin the enemy while your fighters advance. The sniper can represent anyone from a civilian out for revenge to a seasoned hunter. Three Bolt Action order dice are included.
