    Background & context

    Der GPA entstand 1942 als schwimmfähige Variante des Willys-Jeeps und hieß bei den Truppen schlicht Seep. Über 12.000 Stück liefen vom Band, rund ein Drittel davon ging per Lend-Lease in die Sowjetunion. Dort passte der kleine Amphibienwagen gut ins Bild: Die Rote Armee arbeitete sich auf dem Vormarsch nach Westen durch ein Land voller Flüsse und Sümpfe, und jedes Fahrzeug, das ohne Brücke ans andere Ufer kam, sparte einen halben Tag.

    On the tabletop

    The Ford GPA is an amphibious jeep that takes your Soviet army across rivers and marshes in Bolt Action. It is fielded using the GAZ jeep entry with the amphibious special rule added. That lets it carry a small team across water obstacles where your opponent does not expect you. About a third of all GPAs went to the Soviet Union under Lend-Lease, where they eased many river crossings during the advance west. The crew figures are Red Army soldiers.
