Product details

Background & context

After the German invasion in June 1941 the Soviet Union began moving entire factories from threatened regions to the east. Machinery was loaded onto freight trains by crane and taken beyond the Urals, often only weeks before the front arrived. There it was restarted under the hardest conditions and soon turned out tanks, guns and ammunition. Plants left behind were blown up or put out of action.

On the tabletop

Place the crane between factory halls or beside a track, where it seems to be loading goods wagons. Because it turns to any angle, you can set the jib to cut across chosen lines of sight. The gantry and cab hold observers or a sniper. Squads move through the hollow base without having to go around the crane.
