Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Crusader was developed as part of the British cruiser tank program, which envisioned fast and adequately armored vehicles for breakthroughs and exploitation of weak points. The Mk I and Mk II variants were primarily used in the Western Desert Campaign. There, their speed and mobility were well-suited to the wide-ranging, fast-paced engagements in North Africa. Early vehicles carried a 2-pdr gun, while later versions could be upgraded to a 6-pdr armament. The small front machine gun turret of the Mk I was often removed or left unmanned by crews.

In the game, the Crusader Mk I/II is suitable for fast flanking maneuvers, reconnaissance, and flexible fire support. Light tanks and reconnaissance vehicles should utilize their mobility rather than seeking prolonged frontal engagements. In Bolt Action / Achtung Panzer! / Chain of Command, the model complements infantry and heavier vehicles with its speed, mission pressure, and responsiveness. The tags follow the buildable variants and the historical deployment profile.
