    Background & context

    Die britische Armee rechnete noch mit deutschen Luftangriffen auf ihre Panzerverbände und stellte dafür Flak-Crusader auf, bewaffnet mit zwei 20-mm-Oerlikon. Zwischen Mk II und Mk III lag kaum mehr als der Platz des Funkgeräts, das in die Wanne wanderte und im Turm Luft schaffte. Als die Verbände dann in Nordwesteuropa standen, beherrschten alliierte Jagdbomber den Himmel und die Flakpanzer hatten nichts zu tun. Vor allem die polnische Panzerdivision richtete ihre Rohre kurzerhand auf Bodenziele.

    On the tabletop

    The Crusader AA carries two 20 mm Oerlikons in its turret, meant for German aircraft that rarely appeared thanks to Allied air superiority. The Polish Armoured Division in particular turned the guns on ground targets, and that is how you use it in Bolt Action: rapid fire against infantry, lorries and light vehicles. If an aircraft does show up, it is ready for it. The Mk II and Mk III differ only in where the radio sits.
