    Background & context

    Der Cromwell bekam mit dem Meteor einen abgespeckten Flugmotor und war damit ab 1944 der schnellste Panzer der britischen Armee. Er rüstete die Siebte Panzerdivision und die Aufklärungsregimenter der übrigen Panzerdivisionen aus, die ihm Tempo statt Panzerung abverlangten. Tarnnetz mit eingeknüpften Sackleinenstreifen war bei Commonwealth-Besatzungen Standard: es brach die harten Umrisse des Turms und ließ sich in jeder Hecke nachbessern.

    On the tabletop

    This Cromwell wears camouflage netting with strips of cloth tied in, popular with Commonwealth crews because it broke up the outline of the turret. With its Meteor engine the Cromwell was the fastest British tank from 1944 and served in the 7th Armoured Division and the reconnaissance regiments. In Bolt Action you use it for flanking thrusts and scouting rather than meeting heavy tanks head-on. It is playable in Achtung Panzer! as well.
