    Background & context

    Die Chindits marschierten unter Orde Wingate wochenlang hinter die japanischen Linien in Burma, ohne Straßen, ohne Nachschubwege, versorgt allein aus der Luft. Alles Schwere ging auf Maultiere oder wurde in Teilen von Hand getragen. Ein Mörser war damit keine Selbstverständlichkeit, sondern eine bewusste Entscheidung gegen Gewicht und für Reichweite - und die einzige Artillerie, auf die eine Kolonne zählen konnte.

    On the tabletop

    Deep behind Japanese lines in Burma, the 3 inch mortar was often the only artillery a Chindit column had with it. As a medium mortar team it fires in an arc over the dense jungle, where your sections can barely see anything. Its targets are bunkers, roadblocks and enemies in cover. Three Chindit figures form the crew and give your Burma army fire support of its own.
