    Background & context

    Der französische Rüstungsplan von 1926 verlangte einen leichten Begleitpanzer, und Renault entwickelte dafür seinen Prototyp NC1 weiter. Zwischen 1931 und 1935 entstanden zehn Vorserien- und einhundertfünfzig Serienwagen. Die vorgesehenen Gusstürme ST2 mit kurzer 47-mm-Kanone SA34 und gekoppeltem 7,5-mm-MG kamen erst 1936, bis dahin behalfen sich die Einheiten mit älteren Türmen. Ein zweites 7,5-mm-MG saß vorn in der Wanne.

    On the tabletop

    The Char D1 was meant to be a light infantry support tank and instead became France's main battle tank of the early thirties. 160 were built between 1931 and 1935, from 1936 with the ST2 turret carrying a short 47 mm gun and a coaxial machine gun, plus a machine gun in the bow. In Bolt Action it leads your infantry forward in French lists for 1940 and answers enemy fire with its 47 mm gun. The model is resin and metal.
