Background & context

Fiat-Ansaldo lieferte den M13/40 ab 1940 als italienischen Standardpanzer: 42 mm Panzerung, eine 47-mm-Kanone, bis zu vier 8-mm-Maschinengewehre und ein Dieselmotor, der nur rund 32 km/h hergab, dafür aber seltener brannte als die Benziner der Gegenseite. Gegen Crusader und Sherman war er hoffnungslos unterlegen und kämpfte trotzdem von der Westlichen Wüste bis nach Italien durch. Die Semovente 75/18 entstand aus derselben Wanne, weil ein 75-mm-Rohr mehr Gewicht brachte, als ein Turm getragen hätte.

On the tabletop

The three plastic tanks make an Italian armoured platoon for Bolt Action, and during assembly you decide whether they become M13/40s or Semovente 75/18 self-propelled guns. The M13/40, with its 47 mm gun and up to four machine guns, was Italy's main tank from 1940 and fought in the Western Desert and in Italy, even though Allied tanks soon outclassed it. The Semovente, with its 75 mm mountain howitzer, hits positions harder. You can also mix the two versions.
