    Background & context

    Die britische Armee ging mit dem Boys-Panzerbüchsengewehr und viel zu wenigen 2-Pfünder-Geschützen nach Frankreich und merkte im Mai 1940, wie dünn diese Decke war. Beschafft wurde daraufhin, was der Markt hergab, darunter 20-mm-Kanonen aus Schweizer Fertigung. Gegen die Frontpanzerung eines Panzer III half die Waffe wenig, gegen Spähwagen, Halbketten und Bedienmannschaften dagegen sehr wohl. Nach Dünkirchen war sie vor allem als Flak im Einsatz.

    On the tabletop

    For the British Expeditionary Force of 1939 and 1940, this metal gun provides light anti-tank support. The Swiss-made 20 mm cannon hardly penetrates the front armour of a Panzer III, but it is a real threat to armoured cars, half-tracks and their crews. Three figures crew it. Place it in cover at a road or bridge used by lighter vehicles, and leave heavier tanks to other weapons.
