    Background & context

    Den Spitznamen gaben die Briten: Die vorn links sitzende MG-Stellung sah aus wie eine Kanzel, also hieß das Fahrzeug ab sofort Priest. Neunzig Stück gingen 1942 an die 8. Armee, die den Typ in der zweiten Schlacht von El Alamein als Erste ins Gefecht führte. Neben dem behäbigen Bishop auf 25-Pfünder-Basis wirkte die amerikanische Lafette wie aus einer anderen Liga und blieb danach fester Teil der britischen Wüstenartillerie.

    On the tabletop

    The British Eighth Army was the first to take the M7 Priest into battle, at the Second Battle of El Alamein, and this set is made for those desert games. Three crew figures in desert dress serve the 105 mm howitzer in the open-topped hull. In Bolt Action or Achtung Panzer! you use it as mobile artillery that fires indirectly over cover and follows the infantry as they advance. There it fought alongside the older Bishop.
