    Das Fahrrad war im Zweiten Weltkrieg kein Kuriosum, sondern Ausrüstung. Britische und kanadische Bataillone gingen 1944 in der Normandie mit ganzen Kompanien auf Rädern an Land, weil ein Radfahrer ohne einen Tropfen Sprit ein Vielfaches der Strecke eines Fußgängers schafft. Die Wehrmacht sah das genauso und zog 1944 und 1945 in den Niederlanden alles ein, was zwei Räder hatte, um überhaupt noch beweglich zu bleiben.

    In the Second World War bicycles were equipment rather than a curiosity, and British and Commonwealth battalions often landed in Normandy with an entire company on bikes. The three infantrymen on bicycles give your British force in Bolt Action men who can move quickly from one threatened point to the next. They also work as messengers who have to get a vital message through. For games set in Normandy in 1944, place them alongside your rifle squads.
