Background & context

Nordafrika zwang die britische Armee in einen Krieg ohne Flanken: kurze Hosen statt Battledress, Wasser als knappstes Gut, Entfernungen, die sonst niemand auf einer Landkarte hatte. Nach El Alamein und dem Ende in Tunis führte der Weg 1943 über die Landung auf Sizilien nach Kalabrien und Salerno. Erst mit dem Vorrücken die Halbinsel hinauf glich sich das Bild wieder dem übrigen europäischen Kriegsschauplatz an.

For desert and Mediterranean scenarios they form the core of your section or reinforce an existing one.
