Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the late stages of World War II, the British Army increasingly relied on specialized weapon teams to flexibly enhance the combat power of their infantry platoons. The PIAT was the British answer to heavy German anti-tank weapons - unwieldy but effective from an ambush. Snipers in Ghillie suits were particularly feared in the Bocage of Normandy and during the North-West European campaign, while flamethrower teams were used in urban combat and for clearing out fortified positions.

Einsatz im Spiel

The set expands any British infantry army with three tactically distinct weapon teams. The sniper in a ghillie suit threatens enemy HQ models and key figures from a distance, the PIAT team provides a cost-effective anti-tank option, and the flamethrower team is the ideal answer to entrenched infantry and hard-to-reach buildings. Together, the three teams offer a British platoon maximum tactical flexibility.
