Product details

Background & context

The 75mm Pack Howitzer was originally designed for mountain troops and could be broken down into several loads. That is exactly what made it interesting for airborne formations: it fitted into cargo gliders and transport aircraft and was quickly put back together after landing. The British paratroopers used it as light field artillery at critical points such as Normandy, where heavy equipment simply could not be brought up.

On the tabletop

Light enough to be broken down and carried in a glider, the 75mm Pack Howitzer gave British airborne troops their own artillery. On your table the howitzer fires in an arc over cover at positions and infantry your paratroopers cannot reach directly. Three British paratrooper figures serve the gun. In games set in Normandy it rounds out an airborne list that otherwise lacks heavy weapons.
