    Background & context

    Die Associated Equipment Company baute ihren Panzerwagen auf dem Fahrgestell der Zugmaschine Matador auf und rüstete ihn Stufe für Stufe schwerer aus: erst der 2-Pfünder, dann der 6-Pfünder, zuletzt die 75-mm-Kanone der Mk III. Damit war ein Radfahrzeug plötzlich so bewaffnet wie ein Kampfpanzer. Britische Aufklärungsregimenter nutzten die schweren AEC bis nach Nordwesteuropa, wo ihre Feuerkraft die dünner gepanzerten Spähwagen absicherte.

    On the tabletop

    Carrying a 75 mm gun, the AEC Mk III was one of the most heavily armed armoured cars of the war. In Bolt Action it counts as a light tank with a medium anti-tank gun and the improved high-explosive special rule, so it is effective against vehicles and infantry alike. Historically two AECs and a Daimler scout car formed the heavy troop of a reconnaissance squadron, and you can combine them the same way in your army. It served as far as North West Europe.
