Product details

Background & context

Not every wood was a big forest: in Normandy small copses and hedgerows lay between the fields and turned the bocage into a maze of obstructed views. For tanks and infantry alike it was hard to see enemy and ground, and any hedge could hide an anti-tank gun or a machine gun nest. In summer 1944 the Allied troops needed weeks to fight their way through this country.

On the tabletop

The group of trees is a smaller wood that fits in anywhere: at the roadside, in front of a village or as a gap between two hills. It acts as cover, slows movement and blocks the enemy's view. A building guide comes with the kit, and you can vary it freely.
