Product details

Background & context

Communication trenches linked firing positions, dugouts and assembly areas and let men move between positions under fire. They were usually dug in a zigzag so that a single hit would not sweep the whole trench. Even in the Second World War the spade remained as important to the infantry as the rifle, from the Westwall to the defensive lines at Kursk.

On the tabletop

Use the straight piece to stretch a trench line until it fits your table. It blocks line of sight and gives hard cover with improved saves to models in the trench. Line up several pieces, finish them with end pieces and corners, or lay them out as a defensive line in front of an objective.
