Product details

Background & context

Field fortifications were part of the infantryman's daily life in every year of the war. Trenches with firing positions appeared along the coasts and the Westwall in the west, in deeply layered defensive belts on the Eastern Front and along the Gustav Line in Italy. The end piece marks where a position stops and open ground begins, usually where a gun or machine gun covered the flank.

On the tabletop

This piece caps a trench line and doubles as a firing position. Models inside get hard cover with improved saves, and the piece blocks line of sight. An 88mm gun, an anti-tank gun, a machine gun team or a mortar all fit, and the emplacement is sized for a Brickskrieg base. Use it as an objective or as a defensive anchor at the edge of your deployment.
