Product details

Background & context

Sandbags are among the simplest and oldest means of field fortification. In the Second World War they protected gun positions, window openings and sentry posts in towns, and infantry used them to reinforce their foxholes. Where the ground was too hard to dig, on rock or in the desert, a breastwork of sacks took the place of digging.

On the tabletop

The sandbags show that a unit has dug in. The full rules for this belong to more advanced sets; for the simple rules the small supplement in this box is enough. There is no building guide: the parts are enough to build the sandbags as shown in the photos, and you decide how they are arranged.
