Product details

Background & context

Small strongpoints with two or three weapon positions were part of everyday defence: one on the flank, one at the bend of the line and one at the other end. This layout gave all-round fire without tying down many men. British, German and Soviet units built such strongpoints in Normandy, in Karelia or on the Dnieper whenever they had time to dig in.

On the tabletop

Three firing positions are available here: two ends and one corner, joined by straight trenches. That is enough for a defence with a gun, an anti-tank gun and a machine gun team on a small footprint. As with all trench parts the set blocks line of sight, and models inside get hard cover with improved saves. It is smaller than the version with four positions and easier to fit on a table.
