Background & context

Artillery, mortars and other high-explosive weapons shaped many Second World War engagements through area effect and suppression. Bolt Action abstracts that effect with HE templates so that the area affected stays unambiguous on the table. Order tokens support the game's activation system and make the order status of individual units visible. The accessories are historically neutral, but they represent central elements of modern combat command in a Second World War game.

On the tabletop

This plastic frame holds 29 reminder tokens and the ring templates for HE fire in Bolt Action. Sixteen tokens show hidden units, two each stand for artillery or air strikes, immobilised vehicles, jammed turrets and indirect fire, and there are five activation tokens. Lay the template over the point of impact to determine the area affected. Cut the parts from the frame and you are ready to play.
