Product details

Background & context

The British 8th Army was formed in North Africa in 1941 and united British, Australians, New Zealanders, Indians and other Commonwealth formations under one command. Its best-known formation, the 7th Armoured Division, carried a jerboa in its divisional sign and was simply called the Desert Rats after it. The nickname outlasted North Africa and accompanied the division all the way to North-West Europe.

On the tabletop

From 1941 British, Australian, New Zealand and Indian troops fought together in the Eighth Army in North Africa. The emblem on the four MDF markers for this desert army in Bolt Action is the jerboa, the desert rat sign of the 7th Armoured Division. Each records a squad's pin value from 0 to 11 and gives its order die a fixed place, so nothing lies loose in the sand of your table.
