Product details

Background & context

The jerboa in the badge belongs to the British 7th Armoured Division, which earned the byname Desert Rats in the Western Desert and carried it along all the way to North-West Europe. In the open desert with its lack of cover, the observer often decided the outcome of an engagement: whoever had ranged in his indirect fire cleanly first pressed the enemy into the sand before he even came within range. That is exactly the sequence behind these markers.

On the tabletop

The desert jerboa of the 7th Armoured Division is cut into these two laser-cut MDF markers, matching a British Eighth Army in North Africa. When a mortar or battery in Bolt Action ranges in on a target, place the marker there. Even with several indirect fire weapons it stays clear who is shooting at whom and what will be fired on again next turn.
