    The Fiat 626 was the most manufactured medium truck of the Italian armed forces and served in almost all theaters of war - from North Africa to the Mediterranean. France, Bulgaria, and after the armistice in 1943 also Germany, used the robust vehicle. By 1948, over 10,000 units had left the production lines in Turin.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Fiat 626 was the standard transport vehicle of the Italian armed forces in World War II and proved its worth under the harsh conditions of North Africa as well as on the European mainland. France received 700 units, Bulgaria 100 - making the 626 a true multi-front vehicle. After the Italian armistice in 1943, the Wehrmacht took over captured stock and continued to use the robust truck. Production continued until 1948, exceeding a total of 10,000 manufactured units.
