    Background & context

    Die leichte Feldhaubitze 18 im Kaliber 10,5 cm war das Rückgrat der deutschen Divisionsartillerie und stand von den ersten Feldzügen an in den Stellungen. Normalerweise feuerte sie weit hinter der Front, doch wenn ein Gegenangriff durchbrach, mussten die Rohre auch direkt schießen. Bei Arras 1940 war genau das der Fall. Für frühe deutsche Aufstellungen ist sie damit das Geschütz schlechthin, vom Polenfeldzug bis vor Moskau.

    On the tabletop

    From Poland to the gates of Moscow the 10.5 cm leFH 18 served in German divisional artillery, and in your early Bolt Action list it is the medium howitzer. Its usual place is far behind the front, firing in an arc. When a counterattack breaks through, as at Arras, it has to engage targets in plain view as well. Four metal Heer crew and an oval MDF base form the gun position.
