Product details

Background & context

Warlord describes the Berliet VUDB as possibly the first Infantry Fighting Vehicle because its crew and transported infantry could fight from inside the vehicle through multiple firing ports. The VUDB was developed in the 1930s for securing French colonial territories in North Africa. At the beginning of World War II, the type was still in service and was used in North Africa as well as in France. Belgium also operated the Berliet VUDB during World War II.

On the tabletop

The Berliet VUDB is an armoured personnel carrier for your early-war French or Belgian army in Bolt Action. It carries a squad across open ground before the infantry dismounts and attacks. Historically the troops could also fire from inside through weapon ports all round, which makes it a forerunner of later infantry fighting vehicles. It suits games of the campaign in the west and in North Africa. A stat card and damage markers are included.
