Product details

Background & context

Belgium entered the war in 1940 with an army built mainly for defence: fortifications along the Albert Canal, the Meuse and around Liège, backed by infantry with their own support guns. The Fonderie Royale des Canons at Herstal supplied this 76mm piece among others. When the Wehrmacht attacked on 10 May, the Belgian army held out for eighteen days before King Leopold III surrendered on 28 May.

On the tabletop

The 76mm gun gives your Belgian army in Bolt Action a weapon for engaging infantry in cover and fortified positions. Place it where it overlooks the enemy's approach routes, and keep friendly infantry close so the three crewmen are not left on their own. It fits games set during the campaign of May 1940, such as delaying actions along rivers and canals.
