Belgien hatte 1940 eine der dichtesten Festungslinien Europas und verlor sie binnen Tagen: Eben-Emael fiel am ersten Morgen an Lastensegler, danach blieb nur der Rückzug hinter Dyle und Schelde. Achtzehn Tage lang deckte die belgische Armee die linke Flanke der Alliierten und band Kräfte, die anderswo fehlten. Für Sammler ist sie eine der wenigen Fraktionen, die man auf Turnieren praktisch nie zu Gesicht bekommt.

On the tabletop

For a Belgian defensive list in May 1940 this medium mortar supplies the indirect fire in Bolt Action. As its medium mortar the Belgian army used the 81 mm Brandt mle 27/31, a weapon fielded by many nations. Set up behind your own front, it hits enemies at river crossings and in cover without your infantry having to leave their positions. Three metal figures form the crew.
