Am 10. Mai 1940 landeten deutsche Lastensegler auf dem Dach von Eben-Emael und schalteten das modernste Fort Europas binnen Stunden aus. Danach kämpfte sich die belgische Armee von Stellung zu Stellung zurück, hielt die Dyle- und später die Leie-Linie und band dabei Kräfte, die dem Rückzug nach Dünkirchen Luft verschafften. Am 28. Mai kapitulierte König Leopold III., nach 18 Tagen fast ununterbrochenem Gefecht.

On the tabletop

Four officer figures make up the headquarters of your Belgian army for May 1940 in Bolt Action. Use them to field your platoon commander and his attendants, who steady the squads and pass orders on to the units around him. The group suits scenarios from the fall of Eben-Emael through the fighting on the Dyle and the Lys to the surrender after 18 days. Belgian officers were well trained and on a par with their French and British counterparts.
