Hintergrund & Einordnung

The British Expeditionary Force in 1939/40 constituted a significant part of the Allied defense on the European mainland. Specialized weapon teams formed the tactical backbone of every infantry unit, tasked with slowing down enemy advances, reconnaissance, and targeted engagement. Anti-tank rifles such as the Boys AT Rifle, light mortars, and sniper pairs supplemented regular infantry against early German tanks and entrenched positions. These specialists operated in small, independently acting units and, despite their small numbers, were disproportionately valuable to a company's combat effectiveness.

Einsatz im Spiel

The three teams complement each other tactically: The sniper forces the enemy into cover and restricts the movement of enemy infantry, while the anti-tank rifle team threatens light vehicles and halftracks. The light mortar is ideal for indirect fire against units entrenched behind cover. Together, the three squads cover different threat scenarios and make this set particularly valuable for players who want to assemble a tactically flexible BEF squad.
