Background & context

Britische Lieferungen brachten den PIAT zur australischen Armee, doch im Pazifik gab es kaum japanische Panzer, gegen die sich die Waffe gelohnt hätte. Sie landete stattdessen vor den Bunkern und Erdstellungen, die die Japaner in Neuguinea und auf den Inseln anlegten, und diente dort als improvisierter Türöffner auf kurze Distanz. Die Panzerbüchsen hatten die AIF-Divisionen aus den Wüstenfeldzügen mitgebracht und feuerten sie aus demselben Grund weiter.

On the tabletop

The Australian army received the PIAT from Britain, but in the Pacific it hardly ever needed it against tanks. Instead it served, like the anti-tank rifles the AIF divisions brought back from the desert, against Japanese bunkers and earthworks. Four metal figures in tropical uniform crew the PIAT and the anti-tank rifle. In Bolt Action, use them against bunkers and machine gun nests that rifle fire cannot touch, and against the enemy's few vehicles.
