    Product details

    Background & context

Japan's conduct of the war in the Pacific lived on resolve in close combat, and that is exactly what the Assault Frame builds on. The heavier Battle Frames gave rise to a lighter, more agile suit of armour that works in buildings and trench systems rather than only in open country. Added to it was a blade of Rift-hardened material, mastery of which is regarded in the units as a matter of honour and is trained correspondingly hard. Against dug-in US Marines this was the answer of an army without heavy armoured reserves.

    On the tabletop

For close-quarters fighting in Konflikt '47, Japan developed the Assault Frame from the earlier Battle Frames. Each of the five soldiers carries an SMG and a close combat blade forged from a Rift-science compound, and the troops take pride in mastering it. This gives your Japanese force the melee punch it otherwise lacks. Move the squad up quickly to buildings, trenches and positions and fight it out at close quarters there.
