Product details

Background & context

The Free French began in 1940 as a handful of men in London and grew through the colonies: Chad, Cameroon, Congo, later North Africa. Those who did not come from France came from the Legion, from Senegal or from the Pacific. They were equipped on the British pattern and fought in Eritrea, Syria, Libya and, from 1944, on their own soil again. On the gaming table, that means a varied force: colonial troops alongside legionnaires, 1940 equipment alongside British supplies.

On the tabletop
