The Armadillo MkIII is a British improvised vehicle for Bolt Action in 28mm scale. The resin and metal model depicts a jury-rigged armoured truck with a Hotchkiss 3-pdr gun and includes a Stat Card, Damage Markers, Decals, and an Order Die.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

After the fall of France in July 1940, Britain anticipated a possible German invasion as part of Operation Sea Lion. Because a lot of heavy equipment was lost after Dunkirk, improvised vehicles such as the Armadillo were created based on civilian truck chassis. The vehicles were fitted with improvised protective structures made of wood, gravel filling, and steel plates on the driver's cabin. Armadillos were used by the RAF for airfield defense and by the Home Guard. The MkIII version could be armed with, among other things, an outdated Hotchkiss 3-pdr cannon.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Armadillo MkIII is an improvised defensive vehicle for early British Home Defence and emergency rosters. In the game, it offers unusual fire support, but thematically, it's more of a stopgap than a regular front-line vehicle. It is particularly suitable for invasion defense, airfield protection, or local defense force scenarios.
