Pre-painted timber fort at 13.5 mm made from thirteen sections: gate, walls, corners and a commander's office. Arrange them into small or larger fortifications of the War of Independence period.

Background & context

Along the colonial frontier, forts of timber and earth protected settlements, trade routes and rivers. A typical layout had a palisade of sharpened logs, blockhouses at the corners and a gatehouse as the only way in. During the War of Independence (1775-1783) militia, Continental troops, British regulars and their Native American allies all fought over such posts. Many were small and quickly built, yet they offered real protection against raids.

On the tabletop

Set the sections out as a closed square when you want to play a siege or an assault on a frontier post. Each straight wall section takes an Epic Battles infantry base, so your defenders can stand right on top of the wall. Build the gate with moving doors and you can open or shut it during the game. Using fewer sections gives you a small redoubt or a remote outpost.
