    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The German Afrika Korps fought in North Africa from 1941 to 1943 and was considered a battle-hardened elite force operating under extreme desert conditions. Leadership models like officers and artillery observers were the backbone of every German combat formation - they coordinated fire and kept the platoon together. Junior officers were specifically trained to take over the role of their immediate superiors, which gave the DAK its notorious tactical agility. Weapon groups like the medium machine gun (MG34) and the 8cm Granatwerfer 34 enabled small units to pin down far superior opponents through concentrated fire support. This Support Group accurately represents this core - suitable for scenarios in Egypt, Libya, or Tunisia.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The Support Group provides all the building blocks for a complete support platoon: The officer takes over command of the company or platoon, the artillery observer calls in indirect fire, and the medic keeps units in the fight. The MMG team surveys open terrain and engages enemy infantry, while the mortar targets fortified positions. This combination unfolds its full tactical effect particularly in the open desert scenarios of North Africa.
